What to do?
The first hours matter most. Don't panic, go step by step.
My pet is missing
- Post right away: 1-4 clear photos, the place and time it was last seen.
- Walk the area calmly, calling its name. Cats usually hide within 500 metres.
- Leave something with its smell and some water by your door.
- Print the A4 poster from the post page and put it up at vets, shops and residence boards.
- Call nearby vets and the municipal shelter, send them the photo.
- Follow messages through your private link and check reported places one by one.
I found an animal
- Keep it somewhere safe and give it water. Approach unknown animals slowly.
- Check the collar and tag, there may be a phone number.
- Take it to the nearest vet to scan for a microchip.
- Post a found listing and keep one identifying detail private. The real owner will know it.
- Don't take it far away. The owner is most likely searching nearby.
Beware of scams
- Never send money to someone who says "I found it, pay the reward or transport first".
- Ask the finder for a photo or video taken right now.
- Ask about a detail you left out of the post. A real finder knows it.
- Meet in daylight, in a busy place, and bring someone with you.
- Pay any reward only once your pet is in your hands.
